File Downgrade Service - on hold

Sorry - we are currently suspending downgrades until further notice.

Downgrading from AR2024 to v19
Nowadays, there are many unhappy MYOB users, especially those who have upgraded from v19 to the newer AR2024 product (while we refer to AR2024, everything applies equally to all version from AR2011).

There are plenty of forums posts (other than those MYOB have deleted or 'archived') where MYOB users express regret for upgrading from a v19 product. There have been complaints about speed, inaccuracies, changed methods, missing features, errors in the software etc. End of year functions such as Payment Summaries and Starting a New Payroll Year un-earthered more problems and bewildering error messages. Until the next patch, users must contend with a host of work arounds and fixes. waiting

Users new to MYOB who don’t have v19 experience against which to compare, simply ask “how can they sell such a lousy product?” Some are not so polite.

There have been pleas for a downgrade function, a way to go back to v19 – these have been ignored by MYOB.

Downgrading – Why?
Use a fast, stable, reliable program - Plus v19.7 to v19.16 (or Premier/Enterprise depending on your licence)
Use tax tables from FGHTables, saving $$$ each year.

Cons – lose access to Bank Feeds feature, cloud storage and multi user on-line access.

What we offer
We can “downgrade” your company file, by creating a new v19 company file containing essentially the same information as in your AR2024 company file. The main differences are in the number of Payroll transactions (some data is summarised), and transactions before the current financial year will not be imported, other than those required for debtors, creditors and reconciliation purposes). This is not a function, but rather a process, that takes between 6-26 hours to complete (average 15hrs). We have developed numerous macros and sql queries to gather and compile the required information. Downgrades are generally done over a weekend, upload your company file at COB Friday and the v19 file will be ready for you to download before Monday morning.

Why is the process so complex?
  • Export fields do not match import fields, in some cases involving extensive reconstruction.
  • AR2024 has several known export errors, some fields are not exported when they should be, one error causes import to fail, another causes Verification Test errors.
  • MYOB does not export Payroll, Pay Bills or Receive Payments. There are numerous others but these are most important for Employee, Customer and Supplier transactions and balances.
  • Opening Account balances and Card Transactions must be manually entered.
  • Payroll Transactions must be manually entered.
  • Credit notes must be manually applied.

  • We take care of all of the above, including reconciling accounts. The file returned is as close to the AR2024 file as technically possible.

Each file is unique. Time taken and price depends on how much has to be done manually. On the files we have completed, prices have ranged from $350 to $1500 (plus GST)

If you would like a fixed price quote, you will need to zip and then send us your file.
