All our current tax tables have been updated using the ATO PAYG Withholding tax formula for salary or wage payments to employees made between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021.

The new tax tables include changes to all Student Loans. Repayments now commence at a lower annual gross and the maximum rate has increased to 10%. All other rates and thresholds remain as they were from 1 July 2018.

MYOB® Tax Tables - Background: When you purchase a MYOB® product with payroll, you receive a set of current tax tables as part of the package. These tables are created by MYOB Australia (based on the tax office formula) and reside in the same folder as the main exe program in a file appropriately called 'pay2myob.bin'. Before using the Payroll function, you must 'load' a set of tax tables into your Company File. Once loaded into your Company File, MYOB® will use these tables when processing payroll, until replaced by a new set of tax tables.

The problem is tax tables need to be updated each year as tax rates and/or CPI indexed thresholds (such as for Medicare, HECS-HELP and SFSS) change. MYOB Australia seems to have adopted a sales strategy based on tax tables which annoys many users. New tax tables are not separately available from MYOB. Instead users must upgrade to a new version or subscribe to their fairly pricey support program called Cover (now AccountRight Live) to receive the latest 'pay2myob.bin' file as part of the Compliance Updates.

To support this strategy, since Accounting Plus™ Version 14 and Premier® Version 8, the 'pay2myob.bin' file is no longer a simple text file. MYOB have specially formatted it so you can no longer manually edit it when tax rates change. Additionally, each version is formatted differently, so you can't use a 'pay2myob.bin' file formatted for Version 19 with say Version 16.

With the Mac version (AccountEdge®) the tax table file is called MYOB Tax Tables or in v9 to the latest v15.0 has a .tax extension. Everything else is the same and all the comments here apply equally to the Mac version - unless stated otherwise.

Note: The updated tax tables available exclusively from www.fghtables.com are a substitute for MYOB Australia's 'pay2myob.bin' file. Our tables have been tested and will work with all the above mentioned MYOB® versions. They are primarily designed for those who want to have the latest PAYG tax rates without having to upgrade their MYOB® version. There is nothing in your licence agreement that explicitly prevents you using 3rd party tax tables.

Tax tables are available for $90.00. Some users have multiple Company Files. You can use the same tax tables on all your Company Files as long as they use the same MYOB® serial number. When purchasing you will need to know the last 4 digits of your serial number - this can be found under Setup > Company Information.

Installation is simple. Windows versions (Accounting v10 to AccountRight v19.13) are installed by our Tax Table Updater which steps you through the entire process - see video. Mac versions come with easy to follow instructions. The tax tables can be instantly downloaded following payment by Paypal (credit card or PayPal account balance), or will be emailed to you if paying by bank transfer. You will also receive a copy of the applicable Aust Tax Office Weekly Tax Table for you to check the accuracy of the calculations prior to use. After sales support is available for any installation or setup issues you may encounter with our tables. There is also detailed online Help as well as our FAQ page.

Installation Service:

For those who prefer, we can install the tax tables for you via remote desktop using TeamViewer®. Use the Purchase & Install option when purchasing, then book in a time slot via an online appointment booking service, and download a TeamViewer file and the Tax Table Updater from our Downloads page. We will call at your selected time and connect to your desktop and complete the Tax Table Update. More details here.

Effect on Company File: Our tax tables work exactly the same as tax tables from MYOB Australia. No changes are made to the MYOB® software or to any data in your company file. The only changes made are to the tax rates in your Company File that MYOB® calls upon to calculate PAYG Withholding when processing payroll.

The changes made by the updated tax tables are not permanent and on Windows versions, can be reversed by reloading the tax tables from your original 'pay2myob.bin' file.

If you want to confirm our tax tables will work with your version of MYOB®, a demo tax table is available from here.

To purchase: Click one of the buttons below. Paypal accepts credit cards directly, so no Paypal account is required.

The tax tables are available instantly after you pay by Paypal account balance or credit card via the left 'Buy Now' button. For payment by bank transfer use the right 'Buy Now' button and we will forward the requested tax tables by email once payment has been received, usually overnight.

When to Load: The tax rates in these tables apply from 1 July 2020. The best time to update is after your last pay run for 2019/20 and before your first pay run of 2020/21. Whether you load the new tax tables before or after you Start a New Payroll Year makes no difference (unless you are using AccountEdge®). See here for more details, an example, and a link to MYOB's End of Payroll Year Guide.

PS. Don't Start a New Financial Year until your accountant has finalised all 2019/20 tax matters.
